"A Laptop Like You (demo)" is a song on Jonathan Coulton's collection of miscellaneous tracks, Other Experiments.
History[edit]
"A Laptop Like You" was written in response to a request that Jonathan premiere a new song at his second appearance at the Pop Tech conference, in 2004.[1]
Live performance[edit]
As mentioned above, "A Laptop Like You" premiered at Jonathan's second appearance at the Pop Tech. It is believed to have never been performed at a Jonathan Coulton concert.
Trivia[edit]
- The attributes of the laptop described in the song could hint that Jonathan is singing about a Apple Macintosh laptop. Modern Mac operating systems are based on Unix and the keyboards on some early versions of Mac laptops did eligibly leave keyboard-shaped marks on the screen, etc.. (Jonathan uses a Mac laptop onstage when he plays his Zendrum.)
