{{#song:Nemeses (Featuring John Roderick) }}

"Nemeses" is a song on Jonathan Coulton's eighth studio album, Artificial Heart. It is one of the few Coulton songs to have lead vocals performed by another person. In this case, the vocals are done by The Long Winter's John Roderick.

"Nemeses" was one of the songs to be debuted on 7/22/2010 at Coulton's first ever full band concert in Northampton, MA. At some point, the lyrics to "Nemeses" were given a major rewrite, completely changing the first verse, and slightly changing the second verse and chorus.

"Nemeses" was released as the first single from Artificial Heart on July 28, 2011.

Live performance[edit]

This song was first debuted along with several other songs at Coulton's first ever performance with his then new band in Northampton, MA.

"Nemeses" was made available on July 28, 2011, prior to the release of Artificial Heart at Paste Magazine. It can also be downloaded for free if you sign up to the new mailing list.

The song is available on the album Artificial Heart, which can be ordered through Coulton's website or on iTunes.

There are unofficial recordings featuring vocals by Jonathan Coulton from the July 23rd concert in Somerville on youtube, as well as one from PAX Prime 2010. More recent concert recordings such as the February 17th concert in Portland use the revised lyrics.
