Completely sporked from Uncyc. I'm no coding whizz. Also doesn't work. ~ Percephene ~ talk contribs 12:41, 09 May 2008

Okay, now that this works... what use does it actually have, beyond prettifying user pages? (yes I'm RFCing this, if it does have a useful use then this will hopefully get it noticed, too) --Lex (talk - contribs) 07:23, 2 June 2008 (EDT)

Okay, beyond prettifying user pages (and imo thats pretty darn important!) heres a few ideas I have come up with so far to justify its existance:
  • Anytime we might want the way the title displays to be different than the actual page location. i.e. VFD could display as "Votes for Deletion"
  • Colour the heading of a page for a special occasion (i.e. JoCo's birthday?)
  • Reskins of a page for same reason as above, special occasion or event. This allows us to change the way the heading displays without moving the page.
  • Cover both bases with the whole colon debate in Re Your Brains. Could set it to randomly display one of two options, colon or no colon!
  • Differentiate between two pages with similar names/urls ie. distinguishing the Demo version of a song further if we have separate pages for them.
  • Giving a page a more relevant heading particularly for talk pages i.e. Main Page discussion page ("Talk:Main Page" is so unwieldy!)

Thats all I got for the moment :) I'm not overly precious about this one, so if its felt that its not necessary and ppl want to axe it, I'll cope, just! ;) Basically the joy of it is that you can change the look of how a page displays without affecting its url or having to move it. ~ Percephene ~ talk contribs 04:47, 03 June 2008
