History

"A Laptop Like You" was written in response to a request that Jonathan premiere a new song at his second appearance at the Pop Tech conference, in 2004.[1]

Live performance

As mentioned above, "A Laptop Like You" premiered at Jonathan's second appearance at the Pop Tech. It is believed to have never been performed at a Jonathan Coulton concert.
