"A Laptop Like You" is believed to have never been performed at a Jonathan Coulton concert.
- The attributes of the laptop described in the song make it clear that Coulton is singing about an Apple Macintosh laptop. Modern Mac operating systems are based on Unix, Macs have a one-button mouse, the keyboards on some versions of Mac laptops did leave keyboard-shaped marks on the screen, etc.. The fact that the singer is willing to overlook the laptop's shortcomings is typical of enthusiastic Mac owners as well.
- Coulton does in fact use a Mac laptop onstage when he uses his Zendrum.
- Coulton said in an interview that this song was written for Coulton's second appearance at the Pop Tech conference. He figured since the song was "tech" in nature, unveiling it at Pop Tech made sense.
"A Laptop Like You" is available for purchase in the Jonathan Coulton MP3 Store as an individual track or as part of the Other Experiments collection. Of course, this song is also included as part of the "Everything" playlist.
Downloadable FLAC versions of the above are available in the Jonathan Coulton FLAC Store
"Other Experiments" has not been made available in CD form.
A karaoke version of "A Laptop Like You" is available on the Jonathan Coulton Karaoke Store.
