"Betty and Me" was written in response to a request that Jonathan premiere a new song at his second appearance at the Pop Tech conference.[1]
Live performance
As mentioned above, "Betty and Me" premiered at Jonathan's second appearance at the Pop Tech. The only known performance at a Jonathan Coulton concert was at the San Francisco, CA: 2007-02-18 show.

- The original version of this song, available from awryone's downloads, has slightly different lyrics: "It was Betty who suggested that we skip the parts of me that she can't stand," and "Betty thinks it's better if we keep it a surprise."
