Trivia
- Forty-second Thing a Week, released July 21, 2006
- The song was inspired by various 70s horror movies that "scared the hell" out of Jonathan Coulton when he was a child.
Themes
Horror, surrealism, allegory. The song sounds like it is about a rich person(said like it is you, with your big city money) buying a house on a hill, then he finds a 'creepy doll' running around up stairs. "you" end up going "antiquing" and then buys a box from a old man to find that the key that comes with the said box, has the "your" name name on it. Then It drives you crazy crazy, then you throw it in a box, and then throw the said box into the fire, when you realize the one inside the box is you. The picture really fits the description of the doll.
