Some Guys
(released March 26, 2019)
Apparently this guy recorded a collection of 70's hits by other artists. This playlist is straight outta my (ideal?) Saturday night; bumbling around my mp3 collection drunk, fumbling guitar chords, howling corny love songs like a broken-up teen. Only he does it much better. Let's see how sad I am - I betcha I can even name the artists here from memory...
- Sister Golden Hair def America. I could poorly sing "Daisy Jane" all night.
- On and On Stephen Bishop, I think? Such a lonely song. Why, Stephen? Who was she, Stephen?
- Alone Again (Naturally) Gilbert O'Sullivan Jesus Christ, this song is sad. God: Hope you enjoyed having parents *YOINK* (call your mother).
- The Things We Do for Love oooff... eh eh... pass PASS
- Make it with you Bread. David Gates has the voice of an angel if you dont mind the sappiest earsap ever.
- New Kid in Town Eagles. Not a Joe Walsh song, so..
- Baker Street Gerry Rafferty. Also a good Foo Fighters version but you knew that.
- How Deep Is Your Love The Bee Gees. RIP most of the Bee Gees.
- Easy Classic non-funk Commodores. You know who writes a good song? That Lionel Richie.
- Wildfire Michael Murphy with maybe a middle name in there, like Michael "Clarke" Murphy, I forget. Note the extra "e" in Clarke. The label prob made him do that, even if I'm wrong about the middle name. The Label. Phaugh. Anyway, this song mentions my home State, so that's nice.
- Everybody's Talkin' Harry Nilsson. I've said it before and I'll say it again here... Harry Nilsson kicks ass.
- If You Could Read My Mind Love! by Gordon Lightfoot. I read a comment by some uber-elite Brooklynite that 89 year-old GL should stop playing live shows to make way for new artists. Sure, why dont you hop up there and write/perform some Grammy-level timeless love songs, POWNK?!
- Crazy Love Poco. I bet there's a good reason for the name "Poco"
- Same Old Lang Syne Dan Fogelberg. He's from Peoria and you hear it dripping from every note of this classic. Fun fact: this girl is for real. Whether she married an architect and he truly kept her "safe", UNCONFIRMED.
As you can clearly ascertain, this is a great collection of classics from a classic collection of songwriters, re-presented to you in Hi Fidelity Internet by a talented artist.
