Hello! becedda interesting becedda site! I'm really like it! Very, very becedda good!
So you've got five, ten minutes to burn? Here are a lot of tiny little tasks that don't take much effort. In a lot of cases, I've even provided the links!
+

* Look over the latest songs for the [[Main Page#Song Page Flashmob|Song Page Flashmob]]. Maybe there's something you can add!

* Look over [[WikiProject:Lyrics]], pick your favorite song that hasn't been verified, and listen to it while reading the lyrics over.

* Begin explaining the many, many jokes in songs like [[Kenesaw Mountain Landis]] and [[Christmas Is Interesting]]. And if people have started to write out those jokes, look it over -- don't be surprised if you find a joke they missed, or they found a joke you missed. (Hint: [http://www.jonathancoulton.com/forums/search.php?PostBackAction=Search&Keywords=landis&Type=Topics&btnSubmit=Search Search the forums for topics whose titles include "Landis."])  (I think we're pretty close, if anyone wants to give it a once-over for good measure. --[[User:Mtgordon|mtgordon]] 21:21, 30 April 2008 (EDT) )

* <s>Write a little on the VTAW for [[Drinking With You]], explaining the Jim-Pam reference (from the US "Office") and perhaps linking to the [http://www.jonathancoulton.com/2006/06/26/vtaw-drinking-with-you/ Coultonblog post] in which JoCo unveils the VTAW and criticizes the US "Office", as well as the subsequent [http://www.jonathancoulton.com/2006/07/12/quicklinks/ Coultonblog post] in which he discovers that Jenna "Pam" Fischer put "Re Your Brains" on her MySpace (as well as [[Len]]'s excitement when he discovers that she may have seen his illustration).</s> DONE --[[User:MitchO|MitchO]] 10:14, 25 May 2008 (EDT)

* Check out [[:Image:Jonathan placeholder.jpg]] -- at the bottom of the page, there's a list of pages that use that image. Since those images are really placeholders, all those pages don't have real images yet. Pick one and find another appropriate image, if one's out there.

* Move Atlanta audio from [[Re: Your Brains]] -- I'm not sure where. It's not really Fan Content, since it's a live recording, but it's not a video, since it's audio.

* Explain the reference to the Gin Blossoms in the [http://www.jonathancoulton.com/2006/06/09/thing-a-week-36-not-about-you/ Coultonblog post] for [[Not About You]]. (I'd do it myself, but I have zero familiarity with them.)

* <s>Create a page for [[Andy Bates]]. [[User:Brandeks|brandeks]] 01:57, 26 April 2008 (EDT) ''(This may be more relevant when the DVD from the [[San Francisco, CA: 2008-03-03]] show, where Andy cameoed, is released.)'' --[[User:Bry|Bry]] 13:29, 9 May 2008 (EDT)</s> DONE, by Andy himself. --[[User:MitchO|MitchO]] 09:04, 15 July 2008 (EDT)

* Add suuuupaadave's [[Lesson a Week]] [http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=suuuupaadave videos] to the Videos subpage of the appropriate songs -- create a new section called "Covers", please. (Also, write up the [[Lesson a Week]] article.)

* Go through the uncreated tab pages (the red links at [[User:Bry/Tabs list]]), copying in the tabs from the various song detail pages in [http://www.jonathancoulton.com/store/downloads the JoCo store]. (Don't forget to put "'''<nowiki>{{SongNav}}</nowiki>'''" at the top of each tabs page!)

* Go through [[Fan Projects]] and move all the things in the [[Fan Projects#Fanworks|Fanworks]] section to the proper places (usually that song's Videos page or Other Media page).

* Some JoCo songs have no tabs (a lot of the experimental songs, such as [[See You All in Hell]], for instance), but they do have tabs pages that are filed in [[:Category:Tabs]]. Find those tabs pages and replace <nowiki>{{SongNav}}</nowiki> with <nowiki>{{SongNav|cat=no}}</nowiki>, which takes them out of the category. (See [[See You All in Hell/Tabs]] for an example I've done.)

* Add links to any articles, press, etc., about JoCo to the listing at [[Jonathan Coulton press coverage‎]]. Bare-minimum details are all that's required.

(Anyone is welcome to add to this list, as long as you add quick tasks! Quick quick quick! Spoon-feedable if possible! Provide links ahead of time! I just don't have the time to handle all of this myself.) --[[User:Bry|Bry]] 23:30, 24 April 2008 (EDT)

* <s>Create a page for awryone; his download page is referenced more than enough times to need to explain who he is.</s> DONE --[[User:MitchO|MitchO]] 10:44, 22 May 2008 (EDT)

* <s>Create a page for [[Supergroup]]; unfortunately I know '''nothing''' about them.</s> DONE, via an email from JoCo himself no less.  --[[User:MitchO|MitchO]] 10:44, 22 May 2008 (EDT)

* <s>I think its time we create a separate page for [[Little Gray Books]].  We have over a half dozen different ways we're formatting it, linking it, etc, and it comes up as a theoretical link often enough I think that we need it, despite being a primarily Hodgman project.  --[[User:MitchO|MitchO]] 22:56, 31 May 2008 (EDT)  *BUMP* as it were, since we now have more than enough information to justify it's own page, thanks to Jinx.</s> DONE, though it needs more work. --[[User:MitchO|MitchO]] 09:03, 15 July 2008 (EDT)

Hello! becedda interesting becedda site! I'm really like it! Very, very becedda good!

More complex stuff

  • Major content that needs to be added:
    • Shows stuff:
      • Info on older shows (setlists being the hardest to find)
      • Also, a real show template (infobox and everything)
      • Perhaps a way to link songs to what shows they were played at
This can sort of be done with the "What links here" function that's in the "toolbox" nav on the left, as long as setlists link to song pages. It looks like if Shows were their own "namespace" (what exactly that means in WikiMedia, I don't know), a one-click link could be added that would show at what concerts a song had been performed. --Thomast 13:18, 6 May 2008 (EDT)
This is what happens when you arm MitchO with a little knowledge ... in addition, if the concerts were in their own namespace, you can now search for What Links Here only in the concert namespace, giving you a (pretty much) exact list. The question is how do we use that to generate a page? --MitchO 14:41, 6 May 2008 (EDT)
I don't want a namespace for everything, or we'll have a namespace list as long as my arm! That's what categories are supposed to be for! Also, I think the only way we're going to get a "which shows has this song been played in?" section/page is going to be, yes, botting it. No matter whether we do it by namespace or category. --Lex (talk - contribs) 15:59, 6 May 2008 (EDT)

--Bry 03:42, 18 April 2008 (EDT)

    • Does anyone know anything about the friggin' Ze Frank stuff? It's the only red links left on the Discography page, and they're so minor that I want to just delete them, but surely someone can fill them in? DONE, though they could use some info on most pages and cleaning up on the others. --MitchO 10:20, 21 May 2008 (EDT)
      • I plan to do those at some point, but I'm in the middle of moving at the moment. -mtgordon 10:43, 16 May 2008 (EDT)
    • The video links to the SF 2/22 show were not working. There are videos on YouTube that need to be relinked. -Luke M

Incredibly complex stuff

I've been spouting off for weeks about my idea for a revamped, revised, from-the-ground-up retooled videos section, requiring more than a little programmatic knowhow. I've finally written up my ideas -- see User:Bry/Videos - the nuclear option. Please, please comment. I'm so desperate for attention. --Bry 02:28, 4 May 2008 (EDT)
