I just realised, thanks to a quick link in the forums, that Len's image is copyrighted, not CC-licensed. And Flickr definitely gives a CC licensing option. The way I see it, we have several options:
+
# Get permission from Len to use the image in this manner
+
# Claim fair use of the image, used in a low resolution for illustration purposes only
+
# Scrap the image and find another suitable image
+
I somewhat doubt that Len would have any objections to the image being used, but I want to play by the rules. I think option 2 is easiest, personally. --Lex (talk - contribs) 18:40, 1 May 2008 (EDT)

Sing A Longs? Really? I haven't been to a concert yet, but I see no indication of audience participation during FoM on any of the YouTube videos? Is there a part that the audience consistently sings along with? Also, if we do keep it, please remember that when you add a song to a theme, it needs to be added to the list; it isn't a Category, it doesn't happen automatically. --MitchO 21:21, 30 April 2008 (EDT)

Oh, definitely. It's most evident on the final chorus on the Northampton show (just added), and he asks for "audience participation" in the pre-song banter (vid also just added, thx, mtgordon). Thanks for the tip on adding songs to themes. --Thomast 10:41, 1 May 2008 (EDT)
The last time through the chorus, the shows I've seen, has been a capella -- not always clear whether it's meant as a singalong, but it's always at least a clapalong. In unrelated news, but while I'm editing the talk page, I really intended there to be a reference not only to the folk song but to the inspiration via Hodgman, when I added this to quick tasks. I'll do it myself, I suppose, grumble grumble... Oh, I see what you did there, sorry. --Bry 11:03, 1 May 2008 (EDT)

Len image

I just realised, thanks to a quick link in the forums, that Len's image is copyrighted, not CC-licensed. And Flickr definitely gives a CC licensing option. The way I see it, we have several options:

 1. Get permission from Len to use the image in this manner
 2. Claim fair use of the image, used in a low resolution for illustration purposes only
 3. Scrap the image and find another suitable image

I somewhat doubt that Len would have any objections to the image being used, but I want to play by the rules. I think option 2 is easiest, personally. --Lex (talk - contribs) 18:40, 1 May 2008 (EDT)
