Thus the melting camera and the teleprompter going dead. He's dedicated to his profession so he wishes everyone luck and continues the newscast even after the robots blow a hole in the wall big enough for him to see the billboard beyond his parking space. 'Behind' or 'beyond' my parking space?

I like to think this started out as a normal day (thinking about fake plants and donuts) but then he has "something to say" because the Robot Wars are starting. Thus the melting camera and the teleprompter going dead. He's dedicated to his profession so he wishes everyone luck and continues the newscast even after the robots blow a hole in the wall big enough for him to see the billboard beyond his parking space.
