I added a RFC for this page because somewhere along the line, there was a serious formatting explosion somewhere near the bottom of the page.  I haven't traced it all the way back yet, but it appears to be through several edits, so I didn't want to revert and lose several people's work.  But I'm guessing we have a crooked apostrophe somewhere, or some similar issue.  If folks could check their own work, it may be able to be corrected without losing a lot of good effort. --[[User:MitchO|MitchO]] 12:40, 8 May 2008 (EDT)

:Probably something to do with Sierpinski's name, it looks like. :: I've fixed it, but it's a temporary thing -- at this point, we still need to handle the special characters correctly (i.e. with html codes). On a somewhat-related note, I'd like, now that this is reaching some length, to start breaking TDiJC into month pages, so that only one thing is broken at a time... --[[User:Bry|Bry]] 12:48, 8 May 2008 (EDT)

Just a note to all you JoCopedia editors out there: This Day in JoCo should contain information that has something to do with JoCo or his songs, with hopefully some link that will indicate why it's here. A great example is April 15th, 1865:

Note that the links for "died" and "sworn in" are external Wiki links (our default external information site), but the presidential names link to, of course, The Presidents. While it may be important to note that April 15th is Tax Day in the U.S., JoCo really hasn't mentioned anything about taxes in any song (at least that I can personally recall). Be creative, be fun ... but be JoCo related! --MitchO 12:36, 24 April 2008 (EDT)

I have a collection of JoCo-relevant historical dates for all the other months; it just needs to get wikified. So long as I keep up with the calendar, I'm not inclined to rush. I'm through June at this point. If anyone else wants to help, drop me a line. -mtgordon 14:57, 3 May 2008 (EDT)

Are they such that you could paste them in relatively raw format here in the talk page, and peeps could wikify them as they're able? Or does that just add an annoying step to the This Day creation process? I've also been kicking around ideas for dates that would be cool to have on the list, if the specific date could be figured out:
  • HS grad date (1988 or 1989) (Bacon Academy???)
  • Yale grad date (1993)

I can't think of others right now, but you get the idea.

Very raw form. Date + event, no links. I'm basically rewriting them with appropriate links. And there are several hundred of them, all told. -mtgordon 16:41, 3 May 2008 (EDT)

This Day fall down, go boom

I added a RFC for this page because somewhere along the line, there was a serious formatting explosion somewhere near the bottom of the page. I haven't traced it all the way back yet, but it appears to be through several edits, so I didn't want to revert and lose several people's work. But I'm guessing we have a crooked apostrophe somewhere, or some similar issue. If folks could check their own work, it may be able to be corrected without losing a lot of good effort. --MitchO 12:40, 8 May 2008 (EDT)

Probably something to do with Sierpinski's name, it looks like. Best thing to do would be, I think, to make sure we have a clean copy of everything from pre-October, then revert to this revision. --Bry 12:44, 8 May 2008 (EDT)
