Live performance

Availability

Fan Interpretation

This song appears to describe a hypothetical scenario in which a man discovers that he is Jesus, returning for the second coming (or some other messiah-like character), he quickly finds that the power goes to his head and he becomes a celebrity only to realize that in doing so everyone (including his angels) thinks he's an asshole and has overstayed his welcome.

Alternative Fan Interpretation

The song could also be describing a small child or baby. When a baby is born (especially a first child) he/she is quickly and easily the center of all attention. Everything revolves around the baby, then as the baby grows and becomes an naughty toddler or even obnoxious teenager, everyone who was fawning over them rolls their eyes and leaves.
