"Tom Cruise Crazy", a song on Jonathan Coulton's sixth album, Thing a Week Three, is a lighthearted stroll through the demented world of Tom Cruise.
History
"Tom Cruise Crazy" was released as the thirty-third Thing a Week on May 19th, 2006.
Live Performance
"Tom Cruise Crazy" is regularly played at Jonathan Coulton concerts. During performances co-billed with Paul and Storm, Jonathan performs "Tom Cruise Crazy" with them. Jonathan performs the lead vocals, accompanied by his guitar, while Paul and Storm snap their fingers on the off-beats. During each chorus, Paul and Storm perform backup vocals as well.
In the third verse of the song, Paul and Storm ad lib between the first few lines of the verse. Although they vary the actual performance from time to time, these ad libs usually include Paul whistling and Storm vocalizing a trombone.
The song was performed live by Jonathan, Paul, Storm, and Molly (on vocals) at the Seattle April 26, 2008, show in a rare quartet performance.
