I don't know if I like the "bottom of the page" idea, but perhaps adding song navigation to the song-infobox template?

Hiya Adys, backup Welcomer and Show format cleaner-upper MitchO welcoming you to the JoCopedia! We're just starting out everything, including our rules and help section, but feel free to poke around and add any suggestions and knowledge you have. Thanks for signing up. We really, really, REALLY, welcome someone with Wiki and Python experience! :D --MitchO 15:43, 23 April 2008 (EDT)

Cool, glad to hear I might actually be useful :) Drop me a line if any help is needed somewhere Adys 15:44, 23 April 2008 (EDT)
Well, take a look at the discussion page on Main, as well as WikiProjects, and see if there's anything you know off hand that you've been through and done before. Right now my personal biggest bugaboo is how unwieldy it is to add an old show .. we create the page, add it to the calendar, and then to This Day In JoCo, both the daily template AND the list. There's got to be automation there, no? --MitchO 15:49, 23 April 2008 (EDT)
Mediawiki doesn't let editors use "unknown" content, sort of. So I think what you're asking is impossible technically, but I'm sure there's a work around. I'm checking it out. Adys 15:54, 23 April 2008 (EDT)
After a quick look it seems it can be semi automated. I don't know this calendar extension though - I'm going to bed though but take a look at the idea: Template:Date/Dev, Template:Date/L, Template:Date/22 April Adys 16:27, 23 April 2008 (EDT)

Ooh, those new versions of those templates look pretty! Feel free to edit the templates proper. The one thing I noticed is that the calendar link under your date template leads to the shows calendar rather than This Day in JoCo, but I know that's easily fixable. --Agent Lex (talk - contribs) 17:07, 23 April 2008 (EDT)

Hey, Adys, welcome to JoCopedia! Great job with the song-nav templates -- they really look good. Thanks!
I wonder if I could get your input on a couple of things song-template-related: The song-nav template works really well on the "other" pages (lyrics, tabs, videos, fan content), but it seems a little misplaced on the main song page -- to take Code Monkey for an example, you'll see the song name repeated three times from left to right across the top of the screen, and the song-nav takes up a lot of the top of the screen where actual info should probably go.
What would you think about finding some way to put a different song-nav on the main song page -- would that be difficult to automate, would you know? And do you have any suggestions as to what the layout should be? TMBW, from which I've stolen a lot of the inspiration for this project, does it with an "other links" box at the bottom of a song page (see Ana Ng for an example) and a song-nav bar at the bottom of the "other" pages. I don't know if I like the "bottom of the page" idea, but perhaps adding song navigation to the song-infobox template?
Sorry to dump all this in your lap, but I'm a terrible moderator in that I have next to no real wiki experience. I'd really be grateful for any input. --Bry 00:28, 25 April 2008 (EDT)
