Lex, just dropping you a note to say you're doing a great job so far -- also to make it clear to posterity that the wording of my user page predates the wording of yours... ;) --Bry 21:53, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Lex - replaced the image with a CC licenced one from Flickr and added the author/licence info.. --Masonreloaded

Awesome job fixing the Shows calendar [I may retract that if it breaks ;) ]. Good going! --Bry 13:58, 6 April 2008 (EDT)

Lex, I would be be glad to be a moderator --Masonreloaded

Mod me, baby. --MitchO 15:38, 7 April 2008 (EDT)

-Read and commented on both Shows and Songs Guidelines. --MitchO 15:56, 7 April 2008 (EDT)

As you'd probably guessed, I'm power-hungry enough to want in on this moderation thing. (And I've read the editing guidelines.) --Bry 18:07, 7 April 2008 (EDT)

Hey Lex, can we get a left hand side link for the calendar? I was adding May's shows to it, and I have to go to the main page and hunt down the link in the text each time. --MitchO 15:54, 15 April 2008 (EDT)

Three things:

  1. The server settings are such that I can't upload any files (the folder's not writeable). Don't know if you have control over that (probably not), but could you take care of that? (It's so much fun to be able to shuttle technical issues to someone else for a change!)
  2. I do love the WikiProject idea, and I am suggesting that WikiProject:Shows be the next one to be created -- MitchO's already doing most of the tasks, but it might be nice to have an "official" list of what needs to be done. See forum thread for my thoughts...
  3. Congrats, seriously, on getting this made official -- you've done a great job so far, and you definitely deserve all the credit for it. I really appreciate all the work you've put into this!

--Bry 03:17, 18 April 2008 (EDT)

Hey, thanks for getting the uploading problem straightened out! By the way, uploading files doesn't seem to pull up a captcha for me any more -- not that I mind not having to decipher and type characters, but I don't know if that's the expected behavior. --Bry 03:58, 19 April 2008 (EDT)
Oh, okay -- my mistake. I'm okay with captchas not being required for file uploads. Even when I'm logged in [as moderator, let me add ;) ] I get captchas when I've added an external link, though. That what you had in mind? --Bry 11:16, 19 April 2008 (EDT)
I gotta say .. Captcha is driving me NUTS. --MitchO 22:22, 20 April 2008 (EDT)

Lex, something broke the WikiProject:Lyrics page. It's the cell formatting so I'd rather not even try to futz with your work. --MitchO 19:05, 22 April 2008 (EDT)

Hey, Lex -- lots of interesting things happening. Do I have deletion rights? (If not, can I get them?) Hope you're not too swamped -- let me know if there's anything I can do. --Bry 14:55, 23 April 2008 (EDT)

I did a few changes to Template:SongNav to hopefully make it prettier - Could you tell me what you think of them? If it's good, I'll probably work a bit on a few other templates. Adys 15:16, 23 April 2008 (EDT)

Hey, Lex, thanks for the deletion rights, and I'm happy to serve on the welcoming committee. You've probably got enough on your plate, but I'd be glad for your input on the "Fan Projects" page and discussion. --Bry 00:44, 24 April 2008 (EDT)

Template:Snav

What do you think? - Snav will make it easier to create new templates of the kind (take a look at the code). Adys 10:46, 24 April 2008 (EDT)

Hey, Lex, sorry to take so long to get back to you. Thanks for protection rights; I'll take a look at the help:editing, but no promises -- might be quicker to pull Wikipedia's for the time being. (At some point, we need to all sit down and figure out what the various help pages should look like / include, and how they should be organized. The Editing guidelines make little to no sense, and it's irritating to me but I haven't gotten around to fixing it yet.) On an unrelated note, how would you feel about having a "Talk:Mods" or something? Mitch, you, and I could all have it on our watchlists, and people could drop a note there with questions or things they want done but don't have rights for -- then whoever saw it first could edit the page to say he's dealing with it. --Bry 22:20, 27 April 2008 (EDT)

The page I suggested is created, at JoCopedia:Moderators. Will you add it to your watch list? --Bry 23:36, 29 April 2008 (EDT)

Hi, Lex. I'd like to replace the contents of Template:SongDetails with the contents of User:Wesley/SongDetails, but I feel that I should run it by you before I do so. The sample is still up at Template talk:SongDetails. Thanks! — Wesley | 07:16, 30 April 2008 (EDT)

Hey Lex, I was wondering if I could get my test bot, WesBot, to be classified as a bot in this wiki. Right now, all it does is remove the SongNav bar from every page in Category:Songs. Still, if I let it do that for each song page, that would clog up the recent changes page pretty quick. Thanks in advance, and I hope to get a quick writeup of how-to-make-a-bot up later this week. — Wesley | 07:49, 5 May 2008 (EDT)

Thanks, Lex! It worked great! SongNavs are now gone from all the song pages. — Wesley | 09:48, 5 May 2008 (EDT)

videos moved

OK, I get it now. I didn't understand what he was talking about before, and to be honest that box at the top of the songs pages with the links to "lyrics" and "videos" and whatnot didn't even register for me. I looked at the main body of the page, with the "Trivia" and the enigmatic "Themes", didn't see anything about videos, so figured it needed to be added there.

how to edit images on song pages

What's the secret to editing the image on a song page? There are some that have placeholders, and I can update them to show Len's VTAW pic if I knew how.

I've given an answer over at User talk:Spiff, but feel free to correct any mistakes or misconceptions. (Which is to say, in all, Spiff left a note on my talk page and Mitch responded, then Spiff left a note on my talk page and Lex responded, and now Spiff leaves a note on Lex's talk page and I respond. Hurray for mod teamwork!) --Bry 18:03, 24 April 2008 (EDT)

themes

That's *EXACTLY* what I'm looking for, Lex. I understand that "Cover songs" may not be the best theme, but it was an easy way to get the ball rolling and test it out. My feeling is that once we have some themes listed, it may help people use already existing categories rather than a sprawling mess, and it may succeed at the intended goal. Woot! --MitchO 11:52, 27 April 2008 (EDT)

I take it back, it's not perfect yet. It links to the Category page, but doesn't add the song to the category. Check out Re Your Brains. --MitchO 11:55, 27 April 2008 (EDT)
And in another edition of "responding to yourself theatre", I see what it is: You actually added "Sing A Longs" to the bottom of Sweet Caroline. Here's what I was hoping/envisioned: Not having the themes repeated on the bottom, but instead get added to the category/group because of the listing in "Themes". This way, we can have "Christmas" listed in themes, but NOT have to duplicate the listing in categories, and still have the user be able to click and see the sub-category "Christmas" and find the three songs. --MitchO 12:00, 27 April 2008 (EDT)
I think I got the way to do it, Lex. I checked out our godfather, the TMBG wiki, and it appears all their themes just link to a new page which is categorized under "Themes". It means that each theme is going to be a "regular page", but they should all list properly under [[Category:Themes]], which is my ultimate goal. I created a WikiProject for the idea as well, see if you agree with my reasoning/statement. --MitchO 12:25, 27 April 2008 (EDT)

Interwiki Register Link

The interwikifying or whatever of the "register" link on the Main Page doesn't work. The forum link does. --MitchO 17:06, 6 May 2008 (EDT)
