*Delete - I was willing to go along with the general consensus to wait and see whether it happened again, but I've been for deleting it from the start (or at least making it something other than a WikiProject, which I understand as something pertinent to wiki maintenance, e.g. lyrics and Song of the Day). --Bry 19:28, 8 May 2008 (EDT)

*Delete - I agree. Make it a page sure, just not WikiProject. *Delete- Unfortunately, I agree.  I was really hoping he'd hold up to the "let's do this and make the Wiki guys keep track" thing, but it appears to be a one time joke. --MitchO 23:55, 8 May 2008 (EDT)

*Delete- "The Wiki guys" can keep track in the short term by using the page for each show, if necessary.  If there's enough volume, establish a policy of tracking the total somewhere else, but even then, it's not really a WikiProject. -mtgordon

Tasks

  • Have an agreement between moderators on who will handle the deletions - Any volunteers?
    • With only three moderators and probably not many pages, I don't see there as being much of a reason to give someone sole responsibility over deletions. Why not just have it whoever's first on the scene when time runs out? I'm puzzled as to why we'd need an explicit agreement, but maybe you can clarify? --Bry 00:18, 10 May 2008 (EDT)
      • Oh I just meant it can be a bit of an onerous task on more busy wikis so I didn't want to expect all of you to be responsible for it. If you are all happy keeping an eye out for it then we can close this one off too :) ~ Percephene ~ talk contribs 04:25, 10 May 2008
  • Create a voting template that can be used for each nomination - Done.
  • Create a "This page has been nominated for deletion. Click here to vote" template for the page itself
  • Agree on how long each vote should be allowed to go for before a moderator decision is made - Done.
  • Agree that if users vote to keep but tidy up that those users have thereby agreed to work on the tidying or else the page will continue to fail deletion criteria or not... - Done.
  • Create a "This page was nommed for deletion but survived. Do not renom without good reason" template to put on the talkpage - Done.

Task Discussion

Create a voting template that can be used for each nomination

I'll get to this one later, I'll steal the one from Uncyc and adapt it ^_^ ~ Percephene ~ talk contribs 04:34, 30 April 2008

Create a "This page has been nominated for deletion. Click here to vote" template for the page itself

As above unless someone wants to beat me to it. ~ Percephene ~ talk contribs 04:34, 30 April 2008

As promised. Its just a start. If you have suggestions for the wording go right ahead! I'll tidy it up further later:

This page makes Code Monkey sad.
It may not belong in JoCopedia. Someone has asked for this page to be deleted
You may vote on whether to keep it or not at the Votes for Deletion page, or go directly to this page's entry.

Add VFD to a page when you nominate it for deletion. The red link will eventually link to something like this ~ Percephene ~ talk contribs 01:33, 05 May 2008

Have an agreement between moderators on who will handle the deletions

I'm going to hazard a guess that probably only one or two moderators would want to take on this task as it could grow in time. Not really up to me though! ^_^ ~ Percephene ~ talk contribs 04:34, 30 April 2008

Agree on how long each vote should be allowed to go for before a moderator decision is made

On a busier wiki I'd say 1 week, here I'd say maybe 2? That should be long enough for ppl to vote and long enough for it to get fixed up without cluttering up the wiki. ~ Percephene ~ talk contribs 04:34, 30 April 2008

Agree that if users vote to keep but tidy up that those users have thereby agreed to work on the tidying or else the page will continue to fail deletion criteria or not...

Create a "This page was nommed for deletion but survived. Do not renom without good reason" template to put on the talkpage

As the other template tasks ~ Percephene ~ talk contribs 04:34, 30 April 2008

   VFD Survivor
This page survived a Vote for Deletion. It should not be nominated for deletion again without reasonable grounds.
